Norwegian Coast

Skerries and islets, few signs of life
Just the cold tonality of the Sea in Winter’s last light

Upon this estranged coast, occasional homesteads glimpsed
Slip by with the mountains, as shorelines retreat.

Everything is muted as the North comes to pass;
Nothing in evidence but mustering iscolation…

Just once, out of nowhere, big eagle got up
And followed us awhile, struggling against the wind.
