Mountain Hut
From ice-encrusted window, indigo snowfields plummet,
Beyond darkness and azure, acuminate giants lift gaze
One wondrous summit, yet luminescent, impresses
As deep insurgent snowfalls, all twilight, enliven us.
After supper – wine flows and weary senses succumb
In our high-beholden eyrie, to tricks of star-filled space.
Fire spits last flame and ice thickens, yet heaven retains
Late spell. One night here is worth a thousand years of living.
